The Meaning Behind The Kid LAROI’s New EP F*CK LOVE 3: OVER YOU

The mixtape marks his journey of rising to fame but most importantly it centers around his struggles with relationships. He going back and forth with emotions and decisions of moving on from his ex.

[1] Over You

• After being left by his former partner when he was at just lowest point he’s fed up with waiting on her to return back to him. He tells her that he ain’t waiting around for her no more. And the negative impact she had on him is ruining his relationships with his new partners. He’s so angered by it all.

[2] Not Sober (feat. Polo G & Stunna Gambino)

• Smoke a blunt and have whiskey with the cola. He feels better when he’s toxicated. His tone changes in this song. From calling girls ‘bitches’ in “over you” he refers to one as ‘baby’. He’s moving past all the hurt he endured with the girl from “over you”. He’s reflecting on his life and is ready to move on but still struggles to unless he’s intoxicated (high and drunk).

[3] Stay (with Justin Bieber)

• He finds a partner who’s treating him better than his ex but he still struggles with his drinking problem. He knows he can’t change but wants her to stay because after everything he’s been through she’s the only “good” in his life right now.

[4] Same Energy

• His toxic ex wants him back but he’s moved past waiting on her. He says his new partner is much better than his ex and he would prefer to stay as “enemies” and “keep that energy”.

[5] Don’t Leave Me (feat G Herbo & Lil Durk)

• Although the other artists are singing about not wanting their girls to leave them for The Kid LAROI that isn’t his main concern at the moment. He’s just turned 17 and he’s seen a lot and been through a lot at his young age. Girls used to ignore him back then but now they’re into him all of a sudden. Things have changed for him. Chasing love isn’t the main concern for him anymore because now it’s all about making money. He even bought his mom a house.

[6] Bad News

• “Devil in disguise” possibly indicating that she’s two faced. There’s a lot of bad news which can interpreted as lies being told to him and he’s sick and tired of this. He knows what’s up but she keeps on lying and bringing bad things to him. But he did love her back so she shouldn’t forget it.

[7] Still Chose You (feat. Mustard)

• He said he wouldn’t fall in love again but he’s “trippin” on this one girl and he finds himself falling in love with her. But on the side he’s scared he will get hurt badly like how his ex did him wrong. He’s hesitant but he’s willing to give love another shot with this new girl.

[1] PIKACHU

• This song is a reflection of how his whole world changed in 2 years and how people doubted him like his teacher. Pikachu is one of the main characters in Pokémon and in this song The Kid LAROI is the main character of his own life. He’s made it- from sleeping on others couch to buying a house. He came from a rough background but he’s making it big for himself.

[2] SO DONE

• He’s so fed up and done with love. He acknowledges the fact he’s “not ready for love” and “finished us before we begun” but the girl isn’t innocent either she was the “cause”.

[3] TRAGIC (feat. YoungBoy Never Broke Again & Internet Money)

• More than it being a tragic case he’s grown a lot from his past experiences and he’s made it big for himself. He came from nothing but is now living the “lavish” life. This growth has enabled him to recognize who’s after him because he’s famous now- essentially who’s fake and who’s not.

[4] ALWAYS DO

• He’s drinking alcohol and his new girl isn’t happy about it but she has known about his drinking problem since the beginning so she shouldn’t be surprised. And if she can’t accept him for him then maybe she should find someone else because he knows he ain’t changing and it’s just who he is.

[5] FEEL SOMETHING (with Marshmello)

• Fame is hard and it’s shown in this song. People have changed and he’s finding it hard and drinking is the only thing making him feel alive. Despite people changing around him he still needs the love and support we all require to keep going forward.

[6] F*CK YOU, GOODBYE (feat. Machine Gun Kelly)

• He’s so done with his toxic ex. He’s bidding his final farewell to her and says this is the “last time” she can hurt, say or do anything to him. He’s moving on from this part of his life finally. He regrets giving her everything he did.

[7] WITHOUT YOU

• He’s left to fend for himself after being hurt. “Cut a piece of me” kinda makes me believe she took out his heart (metaphorically speaking) and he doesn’t know what to do because of the aching pain. He really did wish to make it work with her but he realizes she isn’t the type for a long term relationship (in reference to “can’t make a wife out of a ho”)

[8] BOOTY CALL (skit)

• A girl calls him and says that she’s not happy with being called for hookups and being “led on” by him.

[9] MAYBE

• Maybe this girl can save her.

[10] WRONG (feat. Lil Mosey)

• One night with a baddie. They know don’t get along but they both know what they want this night. He tells her to DND her phone (do not disturb) and take drink of Hennessy so they can get drunk and spend the night together.

[11] I WISH

• He talks about his pain and struggles and needing help with what he’s going through. He wishes he could share his problems and take those problems away but he “can’t”. And struggles with these problems “everyday”.

[12] NOT FAIR (feat. Corbin)

• Sometimes he thinks he’s just “better off dead”.

• A girl leaves a voice message. She saw the photo of her sixth grade friend “Alyssa” in his bathroom. She’s extremely mad

[14] GO (with Juice WRLD)

• He cant stand being alone and got a girl by her side.

[15] TELL ME WHY

• He’s struggling to say goodbye and he can’t help reminisce about the memories with this girl. He’s much calmer in this track without any cursing and tries to reflect on why he’s unable to let go of these memories with her.

[16] SAME THING

• She’s lying about the things she does behind his back but he knows. He could lie too but he’s tired of lying. He isn’t angry about it because they’re both lying to each other. So he says they should just do themselves and not get involved with each other’s businesses.

[17] NEW GUY (skit)

• This time he makes the call to the girl but a man pick up. He’s aware and so is she about the mixtape he’s writing about her and the guy tells him to stop calling her.

[18] ERASE YOU

• If he could just “erase” her from his mind he would feel much better. He regrets ever meeting her.

[19] RUNNING

• He keeps going back to this one girl each time. She isn’t telling her friends about their nights together but he knows that she wants him as much he wants her. He asks how he can make her feel “comfortable” so she feels at ease with this relationship they have going on.

[20] WISH YOU WELL (skit)

• He doesn’t pick up her call. She has moved on with a guy called “Tyler” after he (presumably) cheated on her with her friend. But she wishes him the best despite it all.

[21] NEED YOU MOST (SO SICK)

• He’s been fighting with his girl constantly. She wants him to try harder but he hasn’t and that leads to their one last night together. He’s unable to pick up her calls but he still needs her and he’s unable to say it. He’s been messed up since their breakup.

[22] SELFISH

• Blames the girl for making it a habit for him being selfish with his future girls. He’s not going to care for the next girls because he’s only going to concentrate on himself and be “selfish” because his “feelings will fade”. He blames her for turning him into this “selfish” person.
